The Mighty Macy Giveaway Rules

1. No Purchase Necessary / Eligibility

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR LIBRARY LOAN DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  

Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited or restricted by law and in any jurisdiction that would require registration, bonding, or other requirements not satisfied by Sponsor. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and its agencies, and their immediate family/household members, are not eligible.

2. Sponsor / Giveaway Period

The “The Mighty Macy Giveaway” (the “Giveaway”) is sponsored by One Word at a Time, a registered 501(c) non-profit organization.  

The Giveaway begins at February 2, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET and ends at February 4, 2026 at 9:10 PM ET (the “Giveaway Period”). All entries must be received by the end of the Giveaway Period.

3. How to Enter

During the Giveaway Period, an eligible individual (“Entrant”) may earn entries as follows. All methods of entry have equal odds of winning and the method of entry does not affect an Entrant’s chance of winning. The maximum number of entries per person, regardless of method, is four (4).

A. Feedback Entries (Up to Three Entries – Free)

No purchase or proof of book access is required for Feedback Entries.

To earn Feedback Entries:

1. Visit these forms (one for each day) during the Giveaway Period.  
2. Complete and submit the feedback forms about The Mighty Macy with all required fields truthfully.  
3. Each completed feedback submission earns one (1) entry into the Giveaway, up to a maximum of three (3) feedback entries per person, one entry per form.

B. Optional Bonus Entry with Book Access (One‑Time Only)

In addition to the Feedback Entries, an Entrant may earn one (1) optional bonus entry (one time only) by providing proof that they have accessed the specific book titled “The Mighty Macy” (suggested retail price approximately $16.99 or available free via library loan).

To earn this Book Access Bonus Entry, an Entrant must, during the Giveaway Period:

- Upload an image that clearly shows either:  

  - A purchase receipt for “The Mighty Macy” from any retailer (any format), or  

  - A screenshot or photo of a library loan, hold, or request confirmation for “The Mighty Macy.”

Limit one (1) Book Access Bonus Entry per person.

C. Alternate Free Bonus Entry (Online AMOE – One‑Time Only)

As an additional completely free method to earn the same one (1) bonus entry without purchase and without providing proof of book access, an Entrant may instead complete the online Alternate Method of Entry (“Online AMOE”) form.

To earn this Online AMOE Bonus Entry, an Entrant must, during the Giveaway Period:

1. Visit https://forms.gle/vuXkDzvB1VYznduv5 during the Giveaway Period.  
2. Complete the Online AMOE form by providing:  

   - Full name  

   - Email address  

   - State of residence  

   - Name of the library, school library, or public library they would like to gift the visit to if they win  

   - A brief statement (in Entrant’s own words) explaining why a librarian, a teacher, or a parent should add this book to their collection  

A properly submitted Online AMOE form earns one (1) bonus entry, equivalent to the Book Access Bonus Entry. An Entrant may receive only one (1) bonus entry total, either via the Book Access Bonus Entry (Section 3B) or the Online AMOE Bonus Entry (Section 3C), but not both.

D. Entry Limits and General Entry Conditions

The total maximum number of entries per person across all methods (Feedback + one bonus method) is four (4). Entrants may not use multiple email addresses, accounts, identities, or devices to exceed the entry limit. If multiple entries are received from the same person in excess of the limit, only the first eligible entries may be counted. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries, or for technical failures of any kind.

4. Winner Selection and Odds

On or about February 4, 2026, Sponsor or its designated representative will select three (3) potential winner(s) in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.  

Potential winner(s) will be notified by email at the contact information provided at entry and may be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release, and any required tax forms within the timeframe specified in the notification. Noncompliance, failure to respond, or return of a notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

5. Prizes

Author Study season pass of four Author Study events. A season pass is one domain-specific link for one classroom or library to use for the four (4) Author Study events within the season. An Author Study event with Kwame Alexander is an interactive, virtual author visit series that brings Kwame Alexander and other notable authors into classrooms for 45 minutes via virtual livestream. ARV: $119 each; 3 prize(s) available. 

Total ARV of all prizes: $357. Prizes are non‑transferable and no cash or other substitution is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable.

6. General Conditions

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process, acting in violation of these Official Rules, or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Sponsor may cancel, modify, or suspend the Giveaway if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the promotion, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

By participating, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Giveaway.

7. Release and Publicity

By entering, Entrant releases and holds harmless Sponsor, its parent, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in the Giveaway or acceptance or use of any prize, to the extent permitted by law.  

Where permitted, winner grants Sponsor the right to use winner’s name, likeness, city and state of residence, and submitted feedback/statement for advertising and promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without additional compensation or notice.

8. Privacy

Information collected from Entrants is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at https://www.onewordcommunity.org/. By entering, Entrant consents to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information by Sponsor for the purposes of administering the Giveaway and fulfilling prizes.

9. Disputes / Governing Law

The Giveaway is governed by the laws of the United States and the state of Maine, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles. Any disputes arising under or relating to the Giveaway or these Official Rules shall be resolved individually, without resort to class action, and exclusively in the state or federal courts located in  Cumberland County, Maine and Entrant consents to the jurisdiction of those courts, where permitted by law.

10. Winners List / Official Rules

For the name(s) of the winner(s) (available after February 4) or a copy of these Official Rules, send an email to media@kwamealexander.com with the subject line: “Winners List/Rules Request – The Mighty Macy Giveaway”, to be received by February 28, 2026.
